Leon Stefanija, Prof. PhD, studied musicology at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, where he was the chair in 2008–12 and runs systematic musicology there. He was lecturer at the Department of Musicology at the Music academy and Zagreb and Musicological department at Faculty of Music in Belgrade (2008–9), as well as at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz (2010–1). Main publications are On the new in music: Alongside the Slovenian instrumental music of the last quarter of the 20th century, Ljubljana, 2001; Methods of music analysis: Historical and theoretical survey, Ljubljana, 2004; Computer-assisted music learning, Ljubljana, 2006; Sociology of music – history, theory, and methodology, Ljubljana, 2010; Contribution to the analysis of the Slovenian music institutions in the 20th century, Ljubljana, 2010; Musical listening habits of college students in Finland, Slovenia, South Africa, and Texas – Similarities and differences (co-editor, Frankfurt am Main, Berlin et al., 2010).
