Penelope Papagiannopoulou has completed her music studies in piano, violin, music theory (Aristotle Conservatory of Piraeus), and composition (State Conservatory of Thessaloniki). She obtained her bachelor's degree in musicology from the Department of Music Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2012, and, in 2019, she successfully completed her PhD thesis at the School of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki under the supervision of Costas Tsougras. Her doctoral research focused on the analysis of Nikos Skalkottas’s double concertos. She has presented her analytical research at conferences of the Greek Musicological Society in Corfu, Athens, and Thessaloniki from 2015 until today. She has also presented papers at international conferences in Cyprus, Greece, and Italy. Her research has been published in conference proceedings, journals, and book chapters. Additionally, in 2019, she conducted post-doctoral research on Nikos Skalkottas’s Archive at the Lilian Voudouri Library with the support of The Friends of Music Society – Kyveli-Horn Scholarships. From 2019 to 2021, Dr. Papagiannopoulou held a postdoctoral research position at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and, from 2021 to 2024, she served as a teaching fellow at the Departments of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. | |
