Christophe Corbier is a Permanent Researcher with the CNRS, affiliated with the Institut de Recherche en Musicologie. He is the author of two books: a biography of Maurice Emmanuel (2007) and Poésie, musique et danse. Maurice Emmanuel et l’hellénisme (2010). He is currently working on the reception of Greek Music in a cross-cultural perspective (philosophy, musicology, philology). His past research includes many papers on the reception of Greek music history in Europe from the eighteenth century to the twentieth centuries, as respresented in the works of such writers as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Friedrich Nietzsche, Roland Barthes.
