Μουσικός Λόγος was first published in 2000 by the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University in Corfu, Greece. After ten issues in print the Editorial Board decided to radically transform the Mousikos Logos project in the following twofold sense: from Greek to English, from print to online. The rationale behind this change is of course that in this way the international musicological community could be addressed. At the same time, and perhaps more importantly, contents could be drawn from the international community pool, rather than only from the Greek one.

We have also decided to proceed by relaying the responsibility of peer reviewing on the guest editor of each issue. This we think be a better alternative to the standard practice of scientific journals. Time will prove us right or wrong.
